Cheer Camp Survival Guide

Cheer Camp. The one thing that every cheerleader loves to hate! Four full days of nothing but cheer can ware down even the most spirited people. From packing too much to worrying about All American nominations, there are a lot of things that can go wrong. But don’t fear! Here are a few tips to help your trip to camp run smoothly.

OK, first off before you leave for camp make sure that you have everything you need but don’t over pack! Take the essentials, uniform, bows, camp outfits, pom poms, and make up. No need to bring room decorations, magazines, board games, when you go back to your room, you will be tired and want to rest!

With your make up, keep it light. Usually camp is in the summer so it’s HOT HOT HOT! No need to pile on the foundation. It not only will make you hotter, and it can clog your pores. Try using Bare Minerals mineral power foundation. Sweep on a little shimmer eye shadow and some mascara and you will be ready to win that spirit stick!

When learning all the cheers and chants, try to stand to the front of the group, and ask the instructor for any additional help that you may need. It will help with the memorization of the material.

Don’t forget to always smile! Remember the instructors are watching and giving out those spirit sticks!!
